Sneakertopia
Sneakertopia
Background
Sneakertopia is a popup museum startup for sneakers.
Role
I was a digital experience intern for Sneakertopia during the summer of 2019. My responsibilities included designing the mobile website, creating a brand identity, and building a social media following.
Mobile Site
Purpose
The purpose of the mobile site was to excite people about the popup museum and provide all the information necessary to buy tickets.
User
To find out the target audience for our site, the team conducted surveys and analyzed data from Facebook and Google ads. We thought that our audience would primarily be teenagers and young adults. However, we discovered that the most popular demographic accessing our site and buying tickets was much older, and were most likely the parents of the predicted younger audience.
Iterations
After I made wireframes for the layout of the site, I designed 3 mockups of possible branding options for the website.
Final Version
I chose the direction that had bright and colorful branding, as it gave the viewer a sense of vibrancy and excitement. Using illustrations instead of photos allowed the graphics to be more colorful and imaginative, and differentiated the pop up site from fashion and retail sites.
Next Steps
I am no longer working at Sneakertopia, but if I were, my next steps would be to continue working on future designs for unfinished features, such as the ticket purchasing page and future necessary features, such as multiple galleries to make the app more immersive.
